Everyday there are thousands of calls made to Hot Gossip and lots of people have lots of fun, making new friends and chatting.

It’s very important, however, that you use your common sense to keep yourself safe.

Here’s some tips to remember about maintaining your safety:

  • When recording your Introduction or messages, don’t include your;
    • Surname
    • Address
    • Telephone numbers
    • Work place
    • Email address
    • Or any other information which could identify who you are or where you live and work.
  • People you meet over the phone, may not be who they claim to be.
  • If arranging to meet someone, do so in the day-time in a busy place until you are satisfied about the other person’s identity.
  • Initially, if you do decide to arrange a date, take a friend along and make sure that your friend knows if you prefer for them to stay.
  • If meeting someone new, tell a friend where you are going and who it is you are meeting.
  • If you feel unsure about someone, trust your instincts. There may be a reason to be wary.
